The code has changed in the unrelated patch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/61218. If I overwrite this temporarily I can change the list style for H1 to bullets, for example. The request here was to make the LS more flexible, and from my current POV it means to show "Heading Numbering" under LS (and to resolve some minor quirks in the dialog). I don't know how this could be a GSoC project and feel not competent enough to judge whether my approach is sufficient.
