CALC border problem spreadsheet

MacOS 26.6.2
Libreoffice Version 26.8.0.3
CALC - ODS spreadsheet

My spreadsheet has a grid of conditionally formatted cells. In earlier
Libreoffice releases, I clear all surrounding cell borders to highlight the
grid that has a standard thin border around all cells and a few thick borders
to separate some sections.

With this release, all cells for the entire sheet have a thin border. I have
used both the toolbar border control to remove them as well as
Format/Cells/Border from the menu.

I then save and close CALC. When I reopen the spreadsheet, all cells again have
the borders. This happens if the cells in question are protected or not and it
happens with or with View/Grid Lines checked or unchecked.. I've tried this on
new and my existing spreadsheet and this behavior happens in both.

I should say that I did change the "NotebookbarColorTransparency" Advanced
Option from 150 to 255 in order to remove the green background in the ribbon.

Any help would be appreciated.
