            Bug ID: 173863
Summary: WRITER: show a progress bar while working on an update
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.2.5.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Whenever LO is occupied for more than a second with a user command, there
should be some cue for the user telling him that LO is working on it. One point
where this is relevant is the 'Update all' procedure. Currently, the user is
left in the dark on what is (or is not) happening.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hit 'Tools - Update - Update all'.

Actual Results:
The submenu disappears, but the main menu item 'Tools' remains highlighted.
Nothing else happens until Writer is done with the update.

Expected Results:
A progress bar should be shown in the status bar, just as it currently happens,
for instance, if I do a PDF export from the file.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The current state of affairs gives the user no information on why LO rests
paralyzed and thus makes it appear that LO is stuck with the command.
