            Bug ID: 173916
Summary: Writer not correctly saving window position
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

I took me a while to figure out what was going on here.

All other LO apps do the expected thing, but where and what size Writer will
appear has recently become very unpredictable.

If maximized (how I usually work) when closed it does not seem to save that
state any more. When next started it will be some random size and position.

If sized by desktop manager snapping, e.g. to the left half of the screen, when
restarted it keeps roughly the same size but jumps to the right half of the
screen after starting.

If snapped to the top of the screen, on restart it snaps to the left of the
screen. If snapped to the bottom half, it starts there then jumps to the top
half, then the left half; then the next time it will jump to the right again.
If snapped to the right half, it will be on the right.

Each fresh start is also slightly off from the ‘snapped’ co-ordinates:

Snapped Left: 1280x1364 x=0, y=76
Startup Left: 1283x1364 x=0, y=76

Snapped Right: 1280x1364 x=1280, y=76
Startup Right: 1283x1364 x=1276, y=76

I have a second monitor, but this behaviour is the same with it disabled. It
also unaffected by Cinnamon Desktop Window Behavior options (e.g. newly opened
windows Automatic/Manual).

It is possible this is due to some interaction with Cinnamon Desktop, but if so
I cannot find any other program that shows this behaviour.

Manjaro Linux
Cinnamon Desktop 6.6.9
