--- Comment #10 from Anders Lind <[email protected]> ---
I recently reported tdf#173771, which documents various Unicode rendering
issues in LibreOffice, with two videos demonstrating examples on Linux and
Windows.

Some of the observed behaviour appears similar to that described here,
particularly the unexpected changes in character presentation and rendering.
However, my report also documents other symptoms and reproduction scenarios,
and I don't know whether they share the same underlying cause.

In short, strings containing characters from different Unicode blocks or
scripts can trigger incorrect rendering in LibreOffice, including missing
characters, blank rectangles, unexpected font or style changes, overlapping
characters, and characters appearing in unexpected positions.

In the discussion on my Ask LibreOffice forum post
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/have-you-experienced-unicode-rendering-problems-in-libreoffice/138292
user ajlittoz noticed that my sample strings contain U+FE0F (VS16) after emoji
code points and suggested that the variation-selector handling described in
this report could be relevant.

My test cases also show rendering changes triggered by factors such as zooming,
scrolling, insertion order, surrounding content, and saving/reloading.

The videos linked in comment 5 of tdf#173771 provide a quick overview, and the
detailed test cases may be useful for comparison or further investigation.
