            Bug ID: 173932
           Summary: CRASH Writer: form letter (mail merge) - printing ALL
                    records to PDF crashes LibreOffice (printing/saving to
                    ODT works)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Printing a form letter (mail merge document) to a PDF printer/destination
crashes LibreOffice Writer as soon as all records (all occurrences) are to be
merged and printed. Using the very same document and data source, the ODT
output path ("File" > "Save as single document") works without any problem.

The crash is therefore specific to the PDF output path combined with "Records =
All".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a Writer document (form letter) and insert at least one database
field: Insert > Field > Other... > Database > <your data source> «Field». (Or
create it with Tools > Mail Merge Wizard.)
2. Connect/register a data source (.ods spreadsheet or .odb) containing [TEXT,
e.g. Mrs. X] records, and insert its fields into the letter. Save the document
as .odt.
3. File > Print (Ctrl+P).
4. Dialog "Your document contains address database fields. Do you want to print
a form letter?"  ->  Yes.
5. In the form letter / print dialog set:
      Output  = Printer  ->  a PDF destination
              (Windows: "Microsoft Print to PDF";
               Linux/macOS: "Print to File (PDF)" / CUPS-PDF)
      Records = All
6. Click Print/OK.

Actual Results:
LibreOffice Writer crashes [immediately / after generating approx. N pages -
state which]. No PDF file is produced (or only a truncated/empty one). All
unsaved work in other open documents is lost.

Expected Results:
A PDF is generated containing one merged letter per record (all occurrences),
exactly as the ODT output already does. No crash.

Reproducible: Always
