Bug ID: 173946
Summary: Use RDN for desktop file naming
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.8.1.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: framework
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In Flatpak, reverse domain notation is enforced for desktop files.
When the desktop files of libreoffice are renamed to match that, the app id set
on each window is wrong. For example for LibreOffice Writer it's set to
"libreoffice-writer", while the actual file name is
"org.libreoffice.LibreOffice.writer.desktop"
This mismatch causes a few problems, like the window icon being wrong and
window activation through xdg_activation failing.
I'm asking that either the matching .desktop file name is set while in a
Flatpak, or the .desktop files are renamed entirely (which is what most other
applications do)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install the libreoffice flatpak from Flathub
2. WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 flatpak run org.libreoffice.LibreOffice 2>&1 | grep app_id
Actual Results:
-> xdg_toplevel#49.set_app_id("libreoffice-writer")
Expected Results:
-> xdg_toplevel#49.set_app_id("org.libreoffice.LibreOffice.writer")
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
