Bug ID: 173974
Summary: Update dialog tells me 26.2.6 is available & doesn't
mention 26.8; at link, 26.8 offered and not 26.2.6
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Suppose I have LO 26.2.5.2 installed on a Windows machine. By now, 26.8.1 and
26.2.6 are out. I am getting an "Update available" tooltip. I click the globe
icon at the top-end of the window, and a dialog opens up. The dialog tells me
"LO 26.2.6 is available", with buttons "Close", "Download..." and "Help".
But - shouldn't I also be offered to upgrade to XX.8, which is already out?
Now, I click "Download..." and am taken to URL:
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/?lang=en-US&version=26.2.6
on that URL, I am offered 26.8.1, and - that's it.
How come here, I'm not even offered the version I came looking for? And I was
told I was going to get?
So, the problems here are IMNSHO:
1. User provided partial information (not told they can either just perform the
minor update or the more major upgrade).
2. Offer in dialog and on web page inconsistent.
3. Web page "refuses" to offer what is was asked (not even as one of two
options)
