            Bug ID: 173975
Summary: Installation takes lots of time without meaningful
                    progress indication
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.6.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: medium
         Component: Installation
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Today, I upgraded LO 26.2.something to 26.2.6.3 on a Windows 11 machine.

While this machine does have some corporate malware and spyware which may slow
things down, it is still a pretty fast machine with lots of memory and not
doing any serious work in the background.

Anyway, the installation got "stuck" twice, for a long period of time of over a
minute I believe.

The first time was during the removal of "older versions". I don't understand
why it was taking so long; there was no detailed description of what steps it
was currently taking (e.g. names of directories or files being removed), and
the progress bar was empty.

The second time was during installation itself, when I was told "Time
remaining: 1 minute" - and this didn't drop to 59s, 58s, etc. - nor to 50s, 40s
etc. - and it took way more than 1 minute, during which it continued saying 1
minute, with the progress bar stuck at around... 55% or 60% I think.

I don't know if some particular step was delayed for some reason, or whether
the installer was "sluggish" in general, but be that as it may - users should
get better feedback IMNSHO.
