Sorry to Brain dump but I'm between meetings:

a) The colour panel should be less prescriptive about the background colour.
The key comparison is the target context. Since most pages are white,
irrespective of theme, the default for the panel should be white. Perhaps a
middle or right click on a colour square on the panel could change the
background to that colour. Or a dropper icon in the corner could be used to
pick a colour from anywhere on screen?

b) Colour palettes are a great idea, and dealt with in a Neanderthal way in
Writer. I don't want to have to research, to find the appropriate config file,
edit it and save it as a new palette. I want a 'new' palette button/context
menu on the panel to open a dialogue with the ability to choose between setting
one colour and auto-generating one of the various algorithmic palettes from
that (complementary, triadic, tetradic, etc) vs setting a bunch of colours
manually vs importing a set sent as a YAML or JSON string in a file. Then name
it and press save (+ copy to clipboard, if you need to share it)

c) The border round a colour chip can muddy the water. Allow users to pick the
panel's background colour (matching their context) and show the chips,
borderless. If the user is using a border on the target, They can pick that
from the specific border colour picker, in the same way

I just know I'm going to get told off for this but I needed to get it off my
chest before my next meeting

Mea culpa

Time for my next meeting
