            Bug ID: 174003
Summary: Want ability to reinterpret selection cells as plain
                    text
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: Inherited From OOo
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

When we paste plain text into Calc, we are offered options regarding its
parsing and interpretation, mostly for choosing which text goes into which
cells.

However, if the text is already within Calc (say, because of a previous pasting
which has proven ill-advised, or because of a decision to split multi-word text
into separate cells) - we do not have access to that functionality. What we can
do is:

1. Select the relevant text
2. Paste it in another app, e.g. a text editor
3. Copy it again so that the clipboard thinks of it as plain text
4. Paste it in Calc and get the text import dialog

That is cumbersome; plus, it may lose some formatting.

I would like it if it were possible to re-apply text import on a given cell or
a selection of cells.
