            Bug ID: 174017
           Summary: CHISQ related functions need no be written with
                    com.microsoft.foo in .ods files
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.0.0 alpha0+ master
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Example file to verify the mentioned mapping

Currently LibreOffice exports some CHISQ related functions using the non-ODFF
namespace COM.MICROSOFT. That prevents interoperability. However, in case of
the CHISQ related functions, the namespace COM.MICROSOFT is not needed at all,
see the comparison below:

ODF 1.4 has these χ2-distribution related functions:
LEGACY.CHISIST (6.18.11)
    Summary: returns the right-tail probabitlity for the χ2-distribution
CHISQDIST (6.18.12)
    Summary: returns the value of the probability density function or the
cumulative distribution function for the χ2-distribution.
LEGACY.CHIINV (6.18.13)
    Summary: returns the inverse of LEGACY.CHIDIST(x; DegreesOfFreedom)
CHISQINV (6.18.14)
    Summary: returns the inverse of CHISQDIST(x; DegreesOfFreedom; TRUE())
LEGACY.CHITEST (6.18.13)
    Summary: Returns some Chi square goodness-for-fit test
(see
https://docs.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument/v1.4/OpenDocument-v1.4-part4-formula.html)

Excel has these χ2-distribution related functions in its UI and maps them to
the ODF functions this way:
Excel UI --> ODF --> Excel UI
CHIDIST        -->  LEGACY.CHIDIST  -->  CHISQ.DIST.RT
CHIINV         -->  LEGACY.CHIINV   -->  CHISQ.INV.RT
CHITEST        -->  LEGACY.CHITEST  -->  CHISQ.TEST
CHISQ.DIST     -->  CHISQDIST       -->  CHISQ.DIST
CHISQ.DIST.RT  -->  LEGACY.CHIDIST  -->  CHISQ.DIST.RT
CHISQ.INV      -->  CHISQINV        -->  CHISQ.INV
CHISQ.INV.RT   -->  LEGACY.CHIINV   -->  CHISQ.INV.RT
CHISQ.TEST     -->  LEGACY.CHITEST  -->  CHISQ.TEST
You can open the attached xlsx file in Excel and export there to .ods to verify
this list.

LibreOffice has these χ2-distribution related functions in its UI and maps them
to the ODF functions this way:
LibreOffice UI  -->      ODF
CHIDIST         -->  LEGACY.CHIDIST
CHIINV          -->  LEGACY.CHIINV
CHISQ.DIST      -->  COM.MICROSOFT.CHISQ.DIST
CHISQ.DIST.RT   -->  COM.MICROSOFT.CHISQ.DIST.RT
CHISQ.INV       -->  COM.MICROSOFT.CHISQ.INV
CHISQ.INV.RT    -->  COM.MICROSOFT.CHISQ.INV.RT
CHISQ.TEST      -->  COM.MICROSOFT.CHISQ.TEST
CHISQDIST       -->  CHISQDIST
CHISQINV        -->  CHISQINV
CHITEST         -->  LEGACY.CHITEST
The attached .ods file was generated by a daily build of LibreOffice 27.2.

As you can see in the mapping of Excel, LibreOffice could as well map:
LibreOffice UI  -->      ODF
CHISQ.DIST      -->  CHISQDIST
CHISQ.DIST.RT   -->  LEGACY.CHIDIST
CHISQ.INV       -->  CHISQINV
CHISQ.INV.RT    -->  LEGACY.CHIINV
CHISQ.TEST      -->  LEGACY.CHITEST
