The procedure is unfamiliar and would likely be rejected by most users. We recommend to not do this by default and rather realize it per extension, if necessary. An improved AC should rather show a list of suggestions. Typing COMP may have more than 20 result with a similar stem and wont show a pop-up list due to the length. But COMPL might have only 8 results - and those should be shown all at once in a list, accessible per arrow key. This procedure is common and likely requested elsewhere.
