            Bug ID: 174027
Summary: LibreOffice Calc 26.x on Windows – Wrapped text lines
overlap in cells and exported PDFs
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc

Description:
Dear LibreOffice Support Team,

I am experiencing a serious text rendering problem in LibreOffice Calc 26.x on
Windows. When I enable automatic text wrapping in spreadsheet cells, the lines
of text overlap vertically. The characters of consecutive lines are drawn on
top of each other, making the text difficult or impossible to read.

System information

    Operating system: Windows
    LibreOffice version: 26.8.1.1
    Application: LibreOffice Calc

Problem description

When automatic text wrapping is enabled in a cell containing a longer text, the
wrapped lines do not appear properly underneath one another. Instead, the
characters of the different lines overlap vertically.

The problem occurs in multiple spreadsheets, not just in one particular
document. It also persists when exporting the spreadsheet to PDF, so it does
not appear to be merely a screen display issue.

Troubleshooting steps already performed

I have tried the following measures, but none of them resolved the problem:

Selected the entire worksheet and used the optimal row height function.
Checked the row height settings and manually increased the row height to
ensure sufficient space for the wrapped text.
Reset the direct formatting of an affected cell using Ctrl+M.
Re-enabled automatic text wrapping via Format Cells → Alignment.
Changed the font to Arial or Liberation Sans and set the font size to 10
pt.
Exported the spreadsheet to PDF to check whether the issue was limited to
screen rendering. The overlapping text also appears in the PDF.
Confirmed that the same problem occurs in other spreadsheets, not only in
the original document.

Despite these tests, the text lines continue to overlap, even when the row
height is sufficiently large.

Request for assistance

Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue? It may be related to
text layout, font rendering, row height calculation, or a regression in
LibreOffice Calc 26.8.1.1 on Windows.

Please advise whether there is a known bug, a recommended configuration change,
or a workaround. If necessary, I can provide a sample spreadsheet and further
system information.

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards
Levke
