Bug ID: 174064
Summary: PDF stamp gets a black background when opened in
LibreOffice Draw with PDFium
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.8.1.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Printing and PDF export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Opening a PDF in LibreOffice Draw through the PDFium import path causes a stamp
annotation to lose its transparency and acquire a solid black background. The
attached one-page test document demonstrates the problem with two stamps: an
opaque control on the left and a transparent stamp on the right.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Save the attached `test.pdf` to any local folder.
2. Open a terminal in the folder containing `test.pdf` and run:
```bash
LO_IMPORT_USE_PDFIUM=1 libreoffice \
"-env:UserInstallation=file://$(mktemp -d /tmp/lo-pdfium.XXXXXX)" \
--norestore --nofirststartwizard --draw \
./test.pdf
```
3. Compare stamp **A** on the left with stamp **B** on the right.
Actual Results:
Stamp A appears correctly. Stamp B has a solid black background instead of
transparency; its text and border also show visible rendering artifacts.
The latest attached PDF was also verified by importing it with
`LO_IMPORT_USE_PDFIUM=1` and exporting it to PNG in headless mode with a fresh
profile. The black background is present in the exported image, so the symptom
is not limited to the interactive display.
The same PDF renders correctly with transparency in MuPDF and in a normal
PDFium page render. This report concerns the PDFium **import** path in Draw; it
does not establish the behaviour of Draw's default PDF importer.
Expected Results:
Both stamps have blue text and borders. Stamp A has an opaque white background.
Stamp B has a transparent background, so the light grid on the page should
remain visible through it.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
