--- Comment #6 from Michael Weghorn <[email protected]> --- (In reply to BogdanB from comment #2) > It happens in a debug build, I can not move the toolbars, but I do not get > that message, but I remember I have seen it somewhere today in my tests on > other bugs. The message Heiko refers to is specific to the qt6/kf6 vcl plugins (and potentially qt5/kf5 as well). The gen/x11 vcl plugin is not affected as it doesn't run on native Wayland, but on X11/XWayland. The issue is caused by the fact that on Wayland, apps are not allowed to position their windows on the screen wherever they want, but that's something only the Wayland compositor is allowed to do (a deliberate design decision). When clicking on a toolbar "header" and trying to drag it elsewhere, that is LibreOffice tries to set a different position (QtFrame::SetPosSize gets called), which isn't allowed. It works fine on X11 instead of Wayland (e.g. forced by environment variable QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb when using the qt6/kf6 vcl plugin) because there, apps are allowed to position their windows freely. It also works when relying on KWin/the compositor to move the window around instead of letting LO do it. For KWin in a Plasma Wayland session, that can be achieved by pressing the Meta key while dragging the window around. That can at least be a workaround for now. Maybe, a potential approach might be to provide a way to drag the windows using the Wayland compositor (or window manager on X11) facilities, e.g. by adding window decorations (the "title bar" that other "normal" windows also have). That is what e.g. the Sidebar also already shows when it gets undocked. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
