            Bug ID: 174091
Summary: Mail merge email sending processes 0 of 0 messages
despite valid data source and successful SMTP tests
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.3 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
LibreOffice Writer fails to send emails through mail merge. The email sending
dialog erports "0 of 0 emails processed" even though the data source contains a
valid recipient, document merging works correctly, and both SMTP connection and
authentification tests succeed.

No error message is displayed and no email is sent.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Writer 26.8.0.3.
2. Create a simple Writer document containing ordinary text.
3. Register a data source containing a single record with a valid email address
in a column named “Email”.
4. Verify that mail merge works by generating a merged document. The resulting
document is created correctly.
5. Configure SMTP under Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Mail Merge
Email.
6. Run the connection and authentication tests. Both succeed.
7. Open the mail merge email sending dialog.
8. Select “Email” as the recipient address field.
9. Select HTML message format and all records (or explicitly select record 1 to
1).
10. Click “Send Documents”.

Actual Results:
The email sending dialog opens and reports:
• Connection established.
• 0 of 0 emails processed.
• 0 emails not sent.
No email is sent and no error message appears.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice should generate and send one email to the recipient specified in
the data source.
The sending dialog should report “1 of 1 emails processed”, assuming successful
delivery to the SMTP server.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The following troubleshooting steps were performed without success:
• Tested both HTML and plain-text email formats.
• Explicitly selected the record range 1 to 1.
• Verified that the data source contains one valid email address.
• Verified that mail merge successfully generates a document using the same
data source.
• Confirmed that no data source filter is active.
• Tested with and without the Email merge field in the document body.
• Confirmed successful SMTP connection and authentication tests.
• Restarted LibreOffice in Safe Mode and reproduced the issue.
• Used a minimal data source containing only one recipient.
In every case, the sending dialog reports “0 of 0 emails processed”.

The issue appears to occur between successful document merging and the creation
or queuing of outgoing email messages.
Since the SMTP tests succeed and no messages are queued, the problem may be
related to the mail merge email generation or sending workflow rather than the
SMTP connection itself.
Please advise if additional logs, debug information, or a sample document and
data source would help identify the cause.
