--- Comment #194 from BogdanB <[email protected]> ---
Since we have a lot of users here affected by this issue (at least 50), until
this bug report is fixed, I want to give you some updates about the solutions
we have for LibreOffice 27.2 version (some of them can be backported to 26.8,
if accepted by developers):

- a new table that will be inserted will NOT have a "Default style", so, if you
add borders, or change anything, the changes are not lost anymore on
adding/removing rows/columns (More info here:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=173887 "Inserting a table
from the toolbar creates a table with a Default style", solved in 27.2.0 and
26.8.3)

- for existing tables with your data, that already have a "Default Style" and
are loosing manual changes, we can remove the "Default style" by clicking
inside the table, then go to the menu Table - AutoFormat Styles - and from the
"Format" list go up and choose "None". You will loose your format of the table
now, but from now on, your problem is gone. Any change made to your table will
remain, no matter what you remove/add. (More info here:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=173936 FEATURE REQUEST:
Bring back the "None" style for tables, solved in 27.2.0)
