BogdanB,
Thank you very much for your quick reply. I would however appreciate that you
take into consideration that I have already tested version versions 26.2 and
26.8 as written into my first comment!
i.e. My very first lines:
"LibreOffice 25.x works correctly.
LibreOffice 26.2.x and 26.8 RC show sever rendering problems."
I have found out after many hours (I'm a novel writer, not a technician) that
attaching a picture "as a character" (default) does create these artefacts. I
have also found out the disabling "smooth scrolling" stops the text rendering
problems.
But when you claim that these bugs have been solved in 26.2 and 26.8, I cannot
follow you. These bugs are not present in v.25 and are present in v.26.2 and
26.8! If not how could have I noticed them?

I now understand that I can avoid these bugs by
1. placing a picture "as paragraph" (is there a way to have this become
default);
2. Disabling smooth scrolling!
This is fine for me but do not speak about a solved issue! (maybe in next
version 27.2?)
Regards.
V.
