            Bug ID: 174339
Summary: Layout no-break spaces in context with the surrounding
                    text
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Currently we handle no-break space as a special character that gets its own
portion which breaks it from its surroundings when laying out text. This is an
outdated view on how text layout works. We can’t chip off parts of the text and
layout them out separately then join the output. It can work some of the time,
but their will be lots of little things that break out because of this.

Instead we should handle no-break space during text layout closer to how we
handle normal space, then do invisible characters handling on top of that.
