As it appears, what you see is not what I see :-) (see screenshots). Again the
version with the problem is 3.4.4

In a sense, the date seems to be correct in the file (I did reopen it on
another PC with version 3.3.4 and dates are correct).

Concerning 1.1.1900, I was wrong in my first post. The date where things start
to be happening is 28th July 1790. I was first thinking about 1.1.1900 because
of the Excel limitation. I should not have presumed too quickly. I had to apply
dichotomy to find the exact date, trying first 1.1.1700, then 1.1.1800, then
1.1.1750, etc.

Related to how I start Calc in KDE, I click on the K symbol in the task bar,
then I choose Calc from the applications->office menu. Sorry if this looks
unprecise, but I do not know how to be more specific. It also happens if I
start Calc with a shortcut on the desktop.

Do you want me to try different settings about localisation?
