Trying to paste a tab-delimited "table" of plain text (plain old text with
"rows" and "columns" enforced by the tabs and returns.)
I'm having the problem of numbers with dashes being turned into dates, then
being changed to "date numbers" by Format -> Clear Direct Formatting (data
loss.)
So here's the enhancement request: The Paste Special... dialog should have a
checkbox, "Do not autoformat this data." This would help people who don't have
time to become LibreOffice autoformat prevention scientists.
Below is the tab-delimited data I used followed by the paste special and clear
direct formatting results (three sets of data: ORIGINAL TEXT, POST PASTE
SPECIAL, and POST CLEAR DIRECT FORMATTING.)
Copying from either Mac apps TextEdit (plain text) or BBEdit, Paste Special
dialog considered it thusly:

Results: after the paste special, certain cells in columns G, I, and K are
turned into dates - and I don't want that, in fact, I've never wanted that.
After the paste, if I use Format -> Clear Direct Formatting, the dates are
turned into "date numbers" and the original text is gone.
