             Bug #: 44562
Summary: Libreoffice cannot see some fonts that are installed
                    on the system
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: LibO 3.4.5 RC2
          Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Libreoffice
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

The drop-down font selector does not report many fonts - including dingbats -
that are installed on the system.

All the other applications work correctly. Specifically, fc-cat lists the fonts
that libreoffice cannot see and all the other gnome and kde applications can
use these fonts.

Note that in libreoffice if the name of the font is manually entered, the font
does then render correctly. However, it is completely impossible to select
these 'missing' fonts from the special characters dialog.

This bug is particularly bad since it means that one cannot use dingbats for
list bullets.

All this happens on an ubuntu oneiric system.
