If this is the case, I suggest that you download a build (https://www.libreoffice.org/download/) of our latest stable LibreOffice version (currently 4.1.2) and see if your conversion bugs are still present. We've fixed a lot of bugs since the 3.5 branch, so it's quite possible that you'll see better results right away. If you're still seeing the same problems with our latest stable build, we'll definitely want more information from you. Do you have an example document that demonstrates the loss of formatting and footnotes?
