So some questions: is your theme tweaked in any way on the Mac ? or is that the default system colour ? ultimately if you set your own toolbars to the same colour as the document background (something that can also be set) then there is an issue. What I suggest you do is to dig out the patch that caused this, chew through it to work out what piece to revert, and suggest some minimal reversion to fix it.
