I suppose that you tried the PRODUITMAT function :
"=PRODUITMAT(range1;range2)", not the questionnable "=range1,range2".

Of course you have checked ;-) :
- that "Autocalculate" is on (Tools > Cell Content > Autocalculate),
- that the 2 columns for the result of the PRODUITMAT are large enough.

When you examine a cell displaying the result of a formula, the "field above"
("ligne de saisie" in French ; I don't know its english name) shows the
formula, not the result, this is the normal way.
