--- Comment #2 from Richard Neill <[email protected]> --- As a not-so experienced user of 10 years, I also got bitten by this. Step 1. Copy image in Firefox. Step 2. Paste into Writer. Step 3. After observing sluggish save/load and breakages, discover that I need to go to Edit-> Links and choose "Break link". Here's what I think should happen: (a) On pasting an image, at the very least, the status-bar should warn that this is pasted as a link, rather than an embed. (b) Right-clicking the image, then choosing Picture -> Picture gives a "Link" entry. This is where the "Edit->Links->Break link" function needs to be. It should also be clearer: use the option to "embed the image" rather than "break a link". (c) When I break the link, to embed the image in the document. it doesn't mean I necessarily want to forget where the picture originally came from. LO should preserve the URL as a reference in the metadata. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
