Priority: medium
Bug ID: 71747
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: EDITING: 'insert current date' inserts also time and
immediately
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.1.3.2 release
Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Feature 'Insert current date' (shortcut CTRL+;) inserts not only current date
but also current time (full time stamp). This is different from ms excel and
that breaks some formulas. Though cell is formatted as date only but you can
clearly see there's time too in input line.
In addition date and time is put into cell without confirmation with Enter.
This is different from ms excel and disallows user to add some text after the
date.
Shortcut key doesn't work when editing cell. This is different from ms excel
and disallows user to add some text before the date.
Excel's behavior of this feature is more flexible.
Workaround is to delete time afterwards (which may take more time than entering
date manually) and/or add text before&after date.
