I just did it again to verify, and it did not resolve it. I do have Java installed, Apple's 1.6.0_65. Before I replaced the user preferences it was selected. After it was not. The problem occurred both ways. I appreciate your help. This is very frustrating, and since it does not appear to happen to others, I'm worried that it will prevent me from using LO. I know I probably should make this a separate report, but I wonder if it is related to a different problem that crashes LO. I regularly export directly to PDF. Since I updated to the newest LO, whenever I export directly to PDF, LO crashes. But if I print to PDF, then export direct to PDF, it doesn't. This at least is something I can work around, but I just wonder if more knowledgeable people than me see some connection.
