I completely agree with comment #3 in that this is not really a bug, as I
understand it, but rather a situation where Find & Replace could be used to
better achieve the required task. To change linefeed to carriage return in the
provided example:

> Search : \n
> Replace: \n
>          [Replace All]

... and then to replace all blank lines:

Search : ^$
Replace:       (i.e., leave empty)
         [Replace All]

I think this can be RESOLVED as WORKSFORME.
