Sadly I do not use any version of Windows myself. The computer with the orginal problem is at my parents company, and it'll be at least another three weeks until I am back there. They're reporting problems with openoffice4 (it starts up quick, but takes ages to open saved documents) anyway, so I'll take them the latest LO and test again.
