Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72186
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Other: Despite installation of v4.1.3.2, version
identified as 4.1.3.2
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.1.3.2 release
Component: Installation
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
Despite installation of 4.1.3.2, Libreoffice identifies itself as version
identified as 4.1.3.2.
Steps to reproduce:
I had version 4.1.3.2 of LibreOffice.
I uninstall it using synaptic ("Mark for Removal" - NB: I donno if those are
the exact words in English version, I translate it from French...). I followed
in fact what was written here:
http://fr.libreoffice.org/home/lisez-moi/#d%C3%A9sinstallation_Linux
I then install the 4.1.3.2 proprely, as I had done in the past (ie: going into
the /DEBS directory and typing "sudo dpkg -i *.deb".
Installation seems to go properly.
I installed both LibreOffice_4.1.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb,
LibreOffice_4.1.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb_helppack_fr and
LibreOffice_4.1.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb_langpack_fr.
However, when I started LibreOffice Draw, it told me it was version 4.1.3.2 and
that a new version was available.
I tried to run libreoffice writer but it just crash asking for an absent
library or something like that.
Just in case, I try to reinstall it.
However, this time instead of choosing "Mark for Removal", I selected "Mark for
Complete Removal" (ie with configuration files).
I then reinstalled Libreoffice as written above and this time it works fine,
with the proper version number and no trouble.
By the way, I noticed the English version of the "howto install" available here
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/installation/linux/#De-Installation_of_a_Previous_Version_of_Community-Supplied_LibreOffice_for_Linux
strongly advises for a complete removal.
Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.1.3.2 release
Last worked in: 4.1.2.3 release
