Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72377
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Unable to compile LibreOffice from git
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: unspecified
Component: Libreoffice
Product: LibreOffice
After following the instructions for developers on how to compile LibreOffice
(http://www.libreoffice.org/developers/) it kept throwing Python3 errors. I am
running 64bit Debian Wheezy (stable). The Python log gave the errors that it
was missing bits for tkinter, gdbm and libreadline. I finally figured out what
dependencies for gdbm and libreadline needed to be installed which weren't
being pulled in but was unable to find anything that would fix the tkinter
dependency. I then downloaded the Python 3.3 source from its home website and
compiled & installed it that way. Configuring needed to be done for Python 3.3
with ./configure CFLAGS=-fPIC then LibreOffice compiled. Does git need to pull
in a later version of Python?
