I have bypassed problem 2. by manually copying Templates to the /home/peter/.config/libreofficedev/4/user/template folder. Although the system locked up, the registrymodifications.xcu file does show an entry <item oor:path="/org.openoffice.Office.Views/Dialogs"><node oor:name="FilePicker_Save" oor:op="replace"><node oor:name="UserData"><prop oor:name="UserItem" oor:op="fuse" oor:type="xs:string"><value>1 file:///home/peter/LibreOffice-Root/Templates/Peters</value></prop></node><prop oor:name="WindowState" oor:op="fuse"><value xsi:nil="true"/></prop></node></item> But this entry is still missing from the /paths/template.
