The words are not found. But, in the past, I have met problems with others larges files with OpenOffice. And the file that I use for test is a large file (860 pages) and it has experienced several version of Open Office and Libre Office during his composition. I used several file make with Open Office or Libre Office, search the word with ctrl/F and ctrl/H, and they were found. I think my large file is broken, although it's open normaly with no error message. I think is not a bug.
