I can now confirm that it's not a bug in LO. The lost is due to
registrymodifications.xcu disappearing, and LO has to generate a new one,
without the old info of course.

I'm suspecting the cause to be a OS-hardware combo fault. (I'm probably
creating a new term here.) Files that are written (or perhaps just loaded into
memory) at the point of power failure are subject to potential corruption or
lost.

The same has happen before to files of other programs. However, some of them
create backups on their own. (One of them makes 5!) Thus recovery is possible
and easy.

So, perhaps I should resubmit another "bug", but label it as enhancement:
Automatic backup for registrymodifications.xcu.
