Strictly speaking, the problem persists, in master and 4.2.0.1, and moreover across a change of platform from ubuntu to debian-wheezy. But what *does* fix the problem is running LibreOffice as a brand new user. I conclude that something in my home directory, which is the same one I used at the time of the original report, is provoking the funny behaviour. I did refresh my LibreOffice user installation directory, so the trigger must be elsewhere. I lack the knowledge to dig further, and without a "real" user being impacted, I think it is not worth the time of anybody who knows more. So, I am resolving the report INVALID.
