I use the formulae =IF(ISBLANK(B54)," ",(+B54)) and =IF(ISBLANK(A54),"
",(C54*D54)) extensively in one spreadsheet. It causes in the first instance a
duplication of a text label or blank space to be displayed, in the second
instance a calculation result to be displayed if the reference cell(s) has/have
content, or to be blank of there is no content in the reference cell(s). This
has worked fine in the past and in fact continues to work in cells which
already have this formula entered. However, this formula cannot now be copied
and modifed into new cells without returning errors. Attempting to do so
originally causes either no calculation to be performed OR a #REF error in the
target cell. After several attempts to copy paste the target field received a
calculation instead of reflecting the target content, in other words, the
target cell should have contained the word NAPKINS or blank space, not a
calculated value (0.00) Further copy and pasting and editing only a single
character in the pasted formula was successful eventually.
