Don't know how that happened, but that doesn't really matter. The important thing is that since I set it back to the top option, all my dates in Calc are behaving themselves. I've been watching it for a few days now, in a couple of different spreadsheets, and all seems to be going well. Thanks very much for your help. I guess that I now need to mark this item as solved.
