That is pretty much a design choice in the embedding of Firebird in
LibreOffice. You need to save the odb file, that's when the data is saved in
it, just like *every* other file in LibbreOffice and most other applications
(except, well, embedded HSQLDB in LibreOffice).

Like the task manager tells you "forcefully terminating (killing) this
application may lead to loss of your data".
