Maybe you put the full stop --inside-- the parenthesis, instead of --outside-- AFAICT, the punctuation (fullstop, exclamation mark etc.) belong out of the parentheses pair, because they refer to the whole period. So I think the behaviour of the auto-correct function is as intended. Setting this to WORKSFORME.
