1. Insert an index entry at the beginning of a paragraph.
2. Save as *.DOC and exit.
3. Reopen the document.
4. The paragraph break is deleted - next paragraph's text begins immediately
after the previous paragraph's text
(When I first encountered the problem, the index entry was preserved;
sometimes, however, it disappears too.)
