Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75388
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILESAVE: Random crash with data loss
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.1.3.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description: I am working with a previously-saved odt with inserted
comments that was converted from a .doc file. Writer was functioning normally
without problem with this file for weeks. All of a sudden, I am suffering a
random crash error where Writer will quit without saving and without warning,
losing any new data created since the previous save. The crashes occur
sometimes only a few seconds after data is entered, sometimes not for lengthy
periods. I have been unable to determine the exact cause, and therefore cannot
suggest a means to reproduce the error. At first I thought it might be related
to Autosave, and I disabled that, but the problem has continued. Any
suggestions for proper error tracking would be welcome.
Steps to reproduce:
1. ....
2. ....
3. ....
Current behavior: Writer quits without warning or saving at random intervals,
causing data loss.
Expected behavior: Writer remains open and functioning normally with or without
Autosave enabled and no data is lost.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.1.3.2 release
