Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75413
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: formatting bullets
Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: unspecified
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Neither Libre nor the older (2008?) MS Office has decent bullet control. Have
you ever tried using it? When interrupting a bulleted format, then resuming, it
is next to impossible to duplicate what was done earlier. Clicking the indent
button moves not the entire text with the bullet, but moves the bullet in the
opposite direction as the arrow indicator on the button. Hitting the bullet
toggle during a search for an indent issue sometimes resolves it, but
generally, controlling the location of the bullets and their distance from the
text is a major headache - sometimes completely unresolvable. Why not simply
have the bullets (using the buttons of course) CONSISTENTLY go to the same
place, with the same indent? Then when using an indent button or hitting tab,
having the bullets CONSISTENTLY go to the same location, CONSISTENTLY using the
next bullet design indicating a lower and lower priority? I have tried using
the formatting button on the tool bar, but of course - it gives totally
different spacing results. Keeping track of which routine to use that itself is
inconsistent is hopeless due to inconsistency in the outcomes. Seems random at
times. You are not alone in this problem - MS Word, as I mentioned - what a
nightmare!
Thanks
PS Your Attachment, Browse, and Don't Add An Attachment buttons don't work
consistently either:
>The Add Attachment button brings up a Browse button, but the typical procedure
>for email does not work here.
>Hitting the Don't Add an Attachment button reaps different results too after
>going back and forth
>>Worst of all: Your form clears the formatting, which I thought was the whole
>>point of the form and attachment buttons, including when I copied and pasted
>>it. Hence, you don't get to see and attempt to rectify the precise
>>difficulties. I hope my verbal description is adequate. If you could contact
>>me when you find or create a Libre Writer version without this bug, which I
>>know everyone encounters if they use bullets on a long document, I sure would
>>appreciate that.
