          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 75890
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FORMATTING: Update Index/Table no longer preserves
                    multiple spaces
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Mac OS X (All)
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: Other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.1.5.3 release
         Component: Writer
           Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 95304
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=95304&action=edit
example .odt which illustrates the problem (or not)

Unlike previous versions, in 4.1.5.3, in Writer, using Update Index/Table to
update a table of contents causes multiple spaces to be replaced with a single
space in the index.

For example, the entry
"A l o n g w a l k"
shows in index as
"A l o n g w a l k".

In previous versions,
"A l o n g w a l k"
showed in index as
"A l o n g w a l k".

As shown in the example, this bug disturbs certain kinds of formatting effects.
Suggested fix is to revert to the previous behavior to avoid arbitrary
behavior changes outside the user's control.
