          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 76575
          Assignee: [email protected]
           Summary: CONFIGURATION: LibreOffice's Directory Stucture
Changes Hamper The Effectiveness Of Addon Security
                    Utilities
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: All
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: Other
        Whiteboard: BSA
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.2.1.1 release
         Component: Installation
           Product: LibreOffice

LibreOffice's installation directory changes with updated versions of the
product, for eg from "C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4.0" to "C:\Program
Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4" etc. This makes it very troublesome when configuring
security programs like Microsoft's EMET
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2458544) to protect applications like
LibreOffice from common exploit techniques.

When manually adding applications via the UI to protect in EMET, the full
directory of the application is added. If an application is updated at a later
stage and the directory structure is changed (like LibreOffice does), it will
no longer be protected. General computer users (such as those i support) loose
the protection benefits of EMET for LibreOffice with each update of
LibreOffice.

Unless there is some reason benefit i am overlooking or am not aware of to keep
changing the directory structure, please standardize LibreOffice's directory
structure between versions. This would make using programs like EMET (or even
scripting) much easier. Is there any reason not to just use "C:\Program
Files\LibreOffice"???
Operating System: All
Version: 4.2.1.1 release
