A slow saving 1500 page text document. Not for further distribution.
Problem description: Very slow saving of the file I am working on. Yesterday I
timed a save to 12 minutes. I have optimized my memory settings since then but
have not checked if there is any change. The save is long enough for me to lose
focus on my work anyway. I guess you might have larger issues to cope with but
to be honest this is driving me nuts and if there is anyway my document might
help you optimize the saving process it's well worth a try.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Auto save or manual save of document.
2. Save takes 12 minutes.
3. Work 15 minutes before repeat.
Current behavior:
Too long time to save document
Expected behavior:
Saving document in preferably less than a minute (Is this unreasonable?)
I have attached the document that takes so long to save to help you with your
work. This document is work in progress and only finished to an estimated
10-20%. It can NOT be forwarded to anyone not directly involved with this
problem. As of now it consists of a table of contents, alphabetical index,
bibliography and 1500 pages of text. There are no pictures at all in it, yet. I
estimate this will rise to approximately 4000 pages before I am done and I will
most likely want to add pictures too.
