          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 77788
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILESAVE: Warn the user when saving files to a tmpfs
                    filesystem
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux (All)
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: Other
        Whiteboard: BSA
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.2.2.1 release
         Component: UI
           Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Ubuntu's guest account has the home directory mounted on a tmpfs filesystem
(which is actually mounted on a directory inside /tmp), so all of that user's
data is lost after log out.

This is an issue with Ubuntu (not LibreOffice), but I've seen a friend lose a
long LibreOffice document that he had edited while logged in to a guest account
on my computer.

So, I thought it would be helpful if LibreOffice could show a warning message
whenever a user tries to save a file to a tmpfs (or, alternatively, if the path
is anywhere under /tmp - this should be easier to implement).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Log in to Ubuntu using the guest account.
2. Create a document using LibreOffice.
3. Add content to the document and save it to the suggested location.

Current behavior:
No warning is shown about the document being saved to a directory whose content
will be lost after log out (a tmpfs, more specifically).

Expected behavior:
A warning message telling the user that the document is being saved to a
location where it may be lost after log out.

Thank you!
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.2.2.1 release
