Priority: medium
Bug ID: 77841
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: : Find or Search for newline, RegEx as \n, does not
work in Libre Office. Works in GEDIT in Linux
Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 3.6.1.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Created attachment 97837

two lines from html code, each gives an option choice
With Libre Office document processor, the search or find (and replace) simply
does not work to find the \n within a Regex search. Does not work under either
MacOS or Linux. YET I can do the same search for the same text document opened
in GEDIT.
Search works OK in LBO for the regex character \t, for example. But not for \n.
See brief attachment as a sample. Note the newline after "April" and after
"May". This is a tiny fragment of html code which does not affect its operation
but the unnecessary newline after each month name makes the code unwieldy and
hard to manage.
I searched within a hex editor and confirmed that the newline, hex 0A, is
present in the file.
