The secret is that you have to dock it in every single instance of Writer (for
good measure, I did so in Calc as well) that is open. This seems to finally
convince it that you don't want a salad of Style boxes open all over your
desktop. This also seems to have "convinced" it even after fully closing.
Somehow, this wasn't an obvious solution to me, as I have suffered with the
behavior for more than a year (I don't remember precisely, but at some point,
LibreOffice started randomly raising any window that got focus, ignoring the
windowing manager, which very quickly made this a real problem.) I was unable
to find any explanation of how to get it to do what I wanted, so maybe this
needs to be better documented.
